The museum presents a unique interactive exhibition about the Liptovská Mara waterworks, whose waters changed the face of the region forever. Take a journey through time and discover how the construction of the dam has affected people lives and the landscape
You can explore a map of flooded villages on a touch screen, immerse yourself in the story of the waterworks in a 3D cinema, or take a role of a hydroelectric power plant operator on an interactive wall. The youngest visitors can look forward to a fun activity – hunting and learning about fish, which are typical for Liptovská Mara. The atmosphere of the exhibition is completed by the visualisation of the flow of the Váh River on the floor and the wall resembling the ripples of the water surface. The panel presentation reveals the fate of flooded villages, the consequences of resettlement, the water management and ecological importance of the dam, as well as the history of rafting on the Váh River. Discover the stories hidden beneath the surface and experience history in a new, engaging way!
