You might know many of the personalities and events of Liptovský Mikuláš from the pages of textbooks, but you can get to know them even better at the Janko Kráľ Museum. You will discover the rich history of the city from its first mentions to the 20th century.
You will see a replica of the Ondrašov Bronze Treasure, an old school class with benches or a portrait of the nobleman Pongrác II, one of the most powerful men of Hungary. You will take a look into the room of the most revolutionary Štúr follower Janko Kráľ, as well as into the life of the world-famous inventor Aurel Stodola, who was respected by Einstein himself. You will learn about the crafts that made the city famous far beyond its borders.
If you are tempted by the secrets of the past, enter Jánošík's torture chamber and experience the atmosphere of cruel interrogations that the legendary outlaw faced before his conviction. In the courtroom, you can try the role of a judge, defense attorney or Jánošík himself and understand how the trials took place in the past.
