Forest Park Háj-Nicovô

On the hill Háj, which is one of the most beautiful viewing points in Liptov, there is a cultural and natural recreation zone.

Unrepeatable views of the scenery of the surrounding mountains, water surface of the Liptovská Mara reservoir and the town itself are an emotionally powerful experience. The locality of Háj-Nicovô, which is included among protected areas, is also sought after for the surrounding beautiful countryside, wide range of sports and military history. Near the forest park, there is a regional bike trail and the first ecological Slovak shotgun range Liptov.

Jánošík´s Torture Chamber and Courtroom

The Janko Kráľ Museum hides one of the cruellest courts in the history of the town, where the brigand captain Juraj Jánošík was interrogated and convicted in 1713. More info

Metamorphosis Fountain

With the names of famous natives, Metamorphosis Fountain is the most photographed place in the pedestrian zone. The place of honour belongs to the inventor, Professor Aurel Stodola, who was considerably respected by Albert Einstein himself. More info

County hall

In the largest building in the middle of the square, there housed the County Administration Centre, once also the County Court and Prison. Its facade is decorated with a relief of the coat-of-arms of the Liptov County, the staircase is illuminated by beautiful stained glass windows designed by Ester Šimerová-Martinčeková. More info

Synagogue

One of the largest and most stylish in Slovakia, the synagogue excels at its richly decorated Art Nouveau interior. More info

Liptov Gallery of P. M. Bohúň

The third oldest gallery in Slovakia has the largest exhibition hall among Slovak galleries and manages more than 5 600 works. More info

Our Mother Statue

Created by Alojz Štróbl, a native of the Liptov region and a leading figure in Hungarian sculpture, the statue is registered in the Louvre, Paris as a work belonging to the most perfect sculptures in the world. Its bronze casting is exhibited in front of the Liptov Gallery of P. M. Bohúň. More info

Lutheran Church

With a capacity of 1 700 seats, it is one of the largest lutheran churches in Slovakia. More info
