THE METAMORPHOSIS FOUNTAIN
The Metamorphosis Fountain pays a tribute to the eminent natives of Liptovský Mikuláš - scientists, inventors, artists, writers, priests, doctors... Seventy names are inscribed in the black granite, an honourable place belongs to – Aurel Stodola, the inventor and professor, who was born in Liptovský Mikuláš in 1859 and who was a teacher of famous Albert Einstein. The fountain was built in the year 2001.
Around the fountain there is a popular relaxing place for families with children who love romping in the water splash. Other great temptations are cakes and ice creams in the nearby patisseries. Adults can enjoy a cup of good coffee on the terraces of cafes. Do not forget to take a picture here, just because this place is one of the most photographed places in Liptovský Mikuláš.
The fountain is situated in the centre of the town on the northern side of Námestie osloboditeľov.
