Liptovský Mikuláš - mesto pre všetkých

You will be accompanied by the guide through Kvačianska Valley (1 ½ hour) and following an education path you will approach a refurnished water mill in Oblazy basin. At single stopping places you will learn about fauna and flora in the area, and explore magic corners of the valley. Finally, you will se two water mills on the river Kvačianka. The mills are situated in the middle of beautiful countryside, surrounded by steep cliffs. Once, three mills stood here. One of them was destroyed by flood in 1913. “Brunčiak´s” mill has been preserved as well as “Gejdoš´s” mill, which was built in the 1st half of the 19th century. Gejdoš´s family lived here from 1920. Married couple met in Ukraine during the 1st World War and they lived their lifetime in the mill. They milled flour, made shingles and the housewife sewed clothes. She gave birth to 5 children. From 1960 the old lady lived alone in the mill. She kept the house, cooked, baked bread… If you want to learn more about inhabitants from the adjoining mill and about reconstruction of mills, join our guide ! The trip takes approx. 4 hours.
